This Week's Announcements
Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
— Philippians 3:13-14
We've been around for more than a century in one form or another. After being established as a denom-
inational church in 1900, the years saw many of our tastes, priorities and even some of our beliefs change. One thing that always remained constant was our love for Jesus. The Lord had begun to prepare us for a re-birth.
In the early 1990's the Lord began to change us in some very specific ways — we began to use a new name, our ministry style began to reflect God's changes in us, our beliefs about the Bible and our faith took on new meaning and our denominational ties began to diminish. Ultimately, we sensed the Lord wanted us to start anew and began to seek Him for the pastor who would lead us forward.
After more than a year of prayer and seeking guidance from the Lord, Terry Dawson was recognized by the Body as God's choice for our pastor. Terry and his family began ministering at what is now Countryside in 1996.
Since that time the Lord has completed many of the changes in us that He had begun including the changing of our name to Countryside. Countryside Christian Fellowship was born-again, so to speak, in 1997, as we committed ourselves to Him in undivided devotion once again and acknowledged our direction and leading as coming from the Word of God and His Holy Spirit.
Countryside is in fellowship with Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa, California.
